Enable earthquake warnings
This function is currently available for the Sichuan region.
When an earthquake occurs near you, the phone will warn you a few seconds to tens of seconds in advance through the notification bar or a full-screen warning based on the estimated intensity, giving you more time to prepare.
When the predicted intensity is less than 2.0 degrees (barely felt or very mild), the phone will report the time, epicenter, magnitude, and tremor at your location through the notification bar.
When the predicted intensity is greater than or equal to 2.0 degrees (perceptible or potentially damaging), the phone will report the epicenter, magnitude, the distance between your location and epicenter, a countdown to the arrival of the transverse wave, and other important information through a full-screen warning.
You can go to and turn on Earthquake warnings. Follow instructions to set the permissions.
This service requires an Internet connection and location services enabled to obtain the device and location information and send earthquake warnings.
When the predicted intensity is greater than or equal to 2.0 degrees, the full-screen warning will be in different colors (yellow, orange, red) to indicate different levels of tremor and damage.
